Season Synopsis :

One of three "trauma-only" facilities in the country, Miami Trauma One boasts a dedicated team of surgeons and staff who deal exclusively in the kind of life and death medicine seen only in one other place...the area of war.

Dr. Eva Zambrano is a third-generation surgeon who is far more comfortable in her scrubs than she is out in the real world. Dr. Thomas Proctor is new to the trauma team having left a "safe" practice in Maryland - though it's clear Proctor is as facile with a scapel as he is with a quip and has been through his share of life experiences, including 36 seconds where he was dead on the table from a heart attack. Dr. Serena Warren, newly out of medical school, is a part of Generation Now. (In between Twittering and texting, she is still trying to figure out if trauma is where she belongs.) Head Nurse Tuck Brody has struggled through a half-dozen 12-step programs, only to find solace in this most chaotic corner of the medical profession. And then there's Panhandle playboy Dr. Christopher Deleo - Dr. C - who thrives in the high stakes of life and death medicine and is, by his own description, a genius redneck.

Together, this team of doctors excels in the golden hour - the 60 minutes immediately following a critical injury in which a patient's life or death hangs in the balance. Which way the pendulum shifts is determined by the intervention of these trauma doctors. They must be swift, smart and confident. Above all, they must work together.

From executive producer Jerry Bruckheimer, this medical drama takes place where the sky is blue and the water bluer. Palm trees line the streets and music blasts through speakers in convertibles and from stereos in storefront windows. It could be paradise. But even paradise needs its angels.
